The fabulous folks from Nelson's Q-Youth Gender Queery group have started a mapping project of all the unisex toilets in the city. So we thought we'd extend it out to the whole country!!
Why do we need this?
Because sometimes single-sex toilets can be scary places for trans, genderqueer and other gender fabulous people, so unisex toilets are sometimes the safest places to go.
Check out Spider's awesome blog about it here
How can you help?
If you know of ANY unisex toilets in the country let us know about it!
Comment on this post and let us know where the unisex toilets in your city are!
An address is fabulous, but a description of where it is is awesome too - e.g. the toilets beside the Dunedin public library in the Octagon have a unisex stall near the women's bathrooms. (Oh look! Our first one, yay!!)
What'll we do with it?
We'll start putting together the list of unisex toilets on the Curious website so more people can pee or poop safely!

Nice idea but wouldn’t it be easiest to jump on the toilet mapping that’s already been done? Crohns & Colitis NZ did a similar exercise and set up Toilet Map http://www.toiletmap.co.nz/
If you got in touch you could probably liaise over database sharingor putting a button on your website. Toilet Map even has an app for download free from iTunes.
