Youth’07 - What do you think?

Youth’07 - What do you think?

A major New Zealand survey of over 9,000 secondary school students shows good reasons for working to address issues faced by same and both sex attracted youth.

"The Youth '07 findings show significant gaps between the health and wellbeing of same-sex and opposite-sex-attracted youth," says Dr Simon Denny, Principal Investigator for Youth '07.

"Three times as many same-sex attracted youths reported bullying and intimidation than their opposite-sex attracted counterparts. The figures are very concerning."

Youth'07 is New Zealand's second national Youth Health and Wellbeing Survey, following on from the first national youth health survey conducted in 2001. The surveys were conducted by the Adolescent Health Research Group at the University of Auckland, aiming to provide accurate information on health and wellbeing issues among secondary school students.

The special report looking at Same and Both Sex Attracted Youth was commissioned by OUT THERE! A joint queer youth development project between Rainbow Youth and the New Zealand AIDS Foundation.

All the Youth'07 Reports including the report on Same and Both Sex Attracted Youth may be downloaded from the Youth'07 website

Have your say

The New Zealand AIDS Foundation and Rainbow Youth have undertaken to produce a set of recommendations to come out of this important though sobering report. These recommendations are to be based on the suggestions and perspectives provided by queer youth and people working with or supporting queer youth.

I encourage everyone to submit their feedback because I know you have some great ideas about how to best address discrimination and promote diversity!

If you are willing to buy a car, you would have to receive the business loans. Moreover, my mother always takes a term loan, which seems to be the most fast.
