Youth Services Trust Whanganui (YST)

Closet Space is a support group that is run in a social environment where we talk, play games watch movies and offer peer support in a safe, friendly and non judgemental environment.

Closet Space Whanganui has been running since 2007 as a Whanganui Public Health initative with the help and support of MaLGRA and the Youth Services Trust (YST).

Friends of Dorothy

Heretaunga College

At Heretaunga College we run a gay/straight alliance called Friends of Dorothy. We've been going for about 3 years and attendance at meetings varies from zero to over 20. Meetings aren't really meetings in the formal sense, but more just a place where people can be themselves and tell bad jokes and generally relax. I am quite sure that just the fact of Friends of Dorothy being in the school contributes significantly to the culture of tollerance here. If you're interested please contact me.
