I hated the comments that, that awful bigot had on the americansfortruth link. With people why use quotes from the bible in a hurtful way aren’t real christians because they haven’t accepted the message that Jesus had tried to teach us.

I looked up Proverbs 16:25 and the version in the bible I found at home says “There is a way that seems right to a man and appears straight before him, but at the end of it are the ways of death” which I took to mean that you shouldn’t always take the first path that appears before (aka the road most traveled) because it leads to a less fulfilling life.

But those are just my 2 cents ... wait 10 cents (we don’t have 2 cents or 5 cents anymore) that I’ve gathered partly from what my baptist youth group has taught me (when I used to go there but I’m now busy that night of the week) and what I feel but unfortunately I have to add that at the moment I don’t really believe in god though I feel a lot more agnostic than atheist.

I laughed. But it is cool how we can turn others to become gay like us. Isn’t it awesome.

I get where you are coming from with being angry. But I do fell that the world is getting better and homophobia is slooooooowly going away. But it will always be there just like discrimination against people with different coloured skin or people with different religions.

Yeah it is amazing, if I know that before reading that page I might have found it a lot easier to find someone.

It is getting a lot better over time but it’s amazing how illogical their ideas are, if we turn others gay why can’t ‘straight’ people turn us back to being ‘straight’.

Though hopefully in the future it would be a lot better because I would like the children of the future (our generations children) to have at least an easier time but unfortunately I don’t think it will happen that fast.

I’ve read that americans for truth article before, it’s heartbreaking. Have you watched Milk? I think anyone queer, homophobic or just interested in the culture should. It’s a really great movie, I cried over that kid in the wheelchair. Watched it with my cousin before I came out she got so confused about how emotional I was about it.
In my opinion you have to be a extremely ignorant person with lack of basic logic and morals to be homophobic. It’s completely unjustified.

I cried at the wheelchair kid too. And when Harvey was shot. Such a good movie. Yeah my mom walked in while I was in tears… awkward… lol I completely agree with that.
That article just made me feel sick.

It’s terrible, but if you look on the net for disgusting bigotry you will most definitely find it. It hurts a little when you read it. When you realise that your pleas to be considered a ‘normal’ member of humanity are so blatantly ignored..frustrating too. Not long ago I made the mistake of going onto a Kiwi blog space and stumbled upon some heartbreaking opinions on gay adoption and child rearing. I wrote a long reply (because I couldn’t keep my hands from typing it!) and posted it and haven’t been back to see what replies I got. Not worth it. I know that MY relationship is based on love and acceptance. I also know that OUR children (when we have them)  will be raised with a clear understanding of love, acceptance and diversity. So at the end of the day, I can go home to my loving family, while those HOMOPHOBIC DICKWADS (for want of a better insult) have to live with their immoral and disgusting views of the world. It must be so terrible to be so scared of something that really doesn’t effect them at all.
Sorry had to blurb it all out :p
Milk is a good movie..also cried at the boy in the wheelchair. My girl and I watched Prayers for Bobby the other night. That had me bawling, and I guess it kinda re-enforces my point. At the end of it all, when her son had killed himself because of the way that she viewed him. She had to live with the guilt of knowing her bigotry basically killed her own son.
God. My first post and I wrote a s**tload. :]

Yeh, some days I forget that I shouldn’t always read the comments sections in news articles about queer stuff; there’s some pretty awful stuff that can get written in those sections, and have left me feeling pretty sad.
It’s really nice to know that that won’t happen on these forums tho!
